A well-defined jawline with a long neck has been a sign of beauty since the time of the Ancient Egyptians. This procedure which creates a toned, smooth neck and lifted jawline was named after Queen Nefertiti, whose bone structure continues to be admired in modern times. A Nefertiti Lift is a non-invasive procedure wherein tiny amounts of botulinum toxin type A are injected into the muscles in your neck, specifically the ones that run vertically from the bottom of the face to your collarbone, creating a downward pull on your jawline. The Nefertiti Lift can be achieved with different treatment options and is used to target different issues of the lower part of the face.

What to Expect
Before your treatment you will have a consultation with Theresa to discuss your concerned areas, ideal results, side effects and to disclose any medications or medical history. 48 hours before the treatment you should avoid drinking any alcohol. On the day of the procedure, a thin, sterilized needle is used to inject the botulinum toxin into the muscle band along your lower face, jaw, and neck about a half inch apart. The toxin will then diffuse down gradually into the muscle.

The vertical muscles that run from the base of your neck to your jaw, known as the platysma bands, continuously pull down on your lower face. Eventually, this leads to drooping skin and a loss of jawline definition. A Nefertiti Lift can prevent these muscles from pulling down, and return a contoured appearance to your jawline. The treatment benefits help those with a lack of jawline definition, whose neck area is wrinkly and sagging, patients with loose jowls, with weight loss in the face (creating sagging) and who tend to tense the neck frequently, causing the area to appear aged.

Am I A Candidate?
This treatment is ideal for patients whose downward-pulling neck bands are disrupting the contour of their lower face. You are likely a great candidate if you are looking for a minimally invasive procedure that can restore definition to your jawline.
Is It Painful?
You shouldn’t feel more than a momentary pinprick during the procedure. We can also use numbing creams if your skin is particularly sensitive. Our expertly skilled clinicians will ensure that any discomfort you feel during your non-surgical neck lift is kept to an absolute minimum.
Aftercare
There are very occasionally additional side effects with any botulinum toxin treatment, which can include temporary bruising, flu-like symptoms, headaches, nausea, or temporary loss of facial control or drooping. However, these are very rare, and don’t tend to last very long. We recommend that patients avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area immediately afterwards, to avoid spreading the treatment to areas not intended for targeting. We also recommend that you avoid rigorous exercise for about 24 hours afterwards, although you should be fine to continue with the rest of your day-to-day activities.
