Lip Augmentation

Lip Augmentation can boost the lip volume, improve the mouth’s balance, and create lips that are full, youthful, and attractive.

Lip Augmentation is surgery to treat small, unbalanced or asymmetrical lips permanently. The surgeon places specially-designed silicone implants into the lip, to increase the size of the upper lip, the bottom lip, or both. Lip Augmentation can boost the lip volume, improve the mouth’s balance, and create lips that are full, youthful, and attractive. Lip Augmentation can increase the size of the lips, restore balance to asymmetrical mouths and create a full, youthful pout. The use of hyaluronic filler can achieve similar results, but fillers are temporary, meaning that regular, repeated treatments are necessary to maintain the effects. Surgical Lip Augmentation produces permanent results.

Benefits
Why get treated

One of the obvious medical benefits is to counter thin lips which have always been a universal standard of beauty. Many women find that treatment can enhance a feeling of femininity. But there are other great results and benefits too. Lip fillers restore or add volume to your lips. They don't stop the aging process, but they might help delay the need for a more invasive surgical lip augmentation, like lip implants or a lip lift.

Frequently Asked Questions
faq

How long do lip fillers last?
Hyaluronate-based dermal fillers generally last between 9 and 12 months. But there are always differences between individual patients.

Can I get fillers if I have cold sores?
If you have had a history of regular cold sores, it is often recommended to take a precautionary dose of Acyclovir. This minimises the chances of the lip augmentation treatment causing a cold sore.

Some swelling can be expected immediately (see our full advice here on lip filler swelling stages ) after the medical treatment. An ice pack can help with this, and the initial swelling will go down quite quickly. There may be minor soreness from the injections as the numbness from the topical cream wears off. Immediately after your treatment, you may have a small amount of bleeding and swelling. This is normal after skin tissue augmentations.
